About This Firearm
Approximate Retail Value: $700
The Springfield Armory Echelon Compact (4.0C) is a modular, striker-fired 9mm pistol designed to balance concealed carry with duty-sized shootability.
Barrel: 4.0 inches
Overall length: about 7.25 inches
Width: about 1.2 inches
Weight: roughly 24 oz with the flush magazine
Capacity: typically 15 rounds flush-fit, with an 18-round extended magazine
Modularity: Its serialized Central Operating Group can be moved between different grip modules, allowing the pistol’s configuration to be changed.
Optics: Springfield’s Variable Interface System (VIS) lets the slide accommodate multiple common red-dot footprints using interchangeable interface components.
Ergonomics: Interchangeable backstraps and an adaptive grip texture are intended to provide a customizable, secure grip.
Bottom line: It’s essentially a compact, Glock-19-sized Echelon with a strong emphasis on modularity and optics compatibility. Its main appeal is getting a relatively compact carry package without giving up the Echelon’s larger-pistol ergonomics and features.
